Newark Liberty International Airport is currently the fifteenth busiest airport within the country in terms of passengers, serving about 50 carriers. Newark Airport is a major hub for United Airlines.
The airport is located about 15 miles (24km) southwest of Midtown Manhattan and 60 miles (97 km) northeast of Philadelphia, serving both metropolitan areas. Newark Airport was the first major airport in the United States.
One of the airlines using Newark Airport for incoming flights from the UK is of example Delta Air Lines.
The Airport is open 24/7.
Newark Liberty Airport Transit
There are 3 Terminals at the Newark Liberty Airport, all connected by AirTrain free shuttle which departs every 4 minutes. The ride to another terminal takes from 5 to 10 minutes.
As per most of the US Airports, passengers have to leave the transit area, check-in and pass immigration control again before boarding next plane.
The transfer takes about 3.5 hours (depending on traffic) however without multiple changes.
The first shuttle bus takes you to Grand Central bus stop where you will change onto JFK airport bus.
Buses departure every 30 minutes.
