It is the most northern airport in Finland, located under 10km from Ivalo city. The airport is busiest during the winter season with flights from Europe, Finland and also the UK bringing tourists to the local popular ski resort Saariselkä.
The city is also popular thanks to Aurora village with great sceneries lightened with Northern lights.
