Allow minimum transit time of 1 hour within the same terminal, at least 2 hours between different terminals and at least 4 hours between different JFK Airport - La Guardia Airport.
There are two ways of transferring between terminals:
Between Terminals 2 and 4:
Use Delta’s JFK Jitney shuttle bus.
Delta’s JFK Jitney makes three stops between Terminals 2 and 4, near gate C60 in Terminal 2 and near gates B54 and B18 in Terminal 4. This service is free and you will not have to go through TSA security again.
Between all other Terminals:
Take the AirTrain.
The AirTrain system operates between all passenger terminals. For journeys between terminals, it’s free.
To make your connection, follow signs for AirTrain. You will need to reclear TSA security once you arrive in your departure terminal.
For international arriving passengers, you must claim all checked bags at Customs and recheck with your departing airline, even if the bags are checked to your final destination!

Train transfer
For the transfer between New York JFK and La Guardia airport use AirTrain from JFK and change at Jamaica station onto E metro line (blue). Take the metro to Roosevelt Av. Jakscon Heights Station where change onto bus Q47 or Q70 to the La Guardia Airport.

For the transfer between New York JFK and New Jersey’s Newark Liberty airport use AirTrain from JFK -> change at Jamaica station onto metro line E or onto trains Babylon or Ronkonkoma to Manhattan’s Pennsylvania Station.
At Pennsylvania Station change onto NJ Transit or AmTrak train to Newark airport (25 minutes) where you change onto AirTrain .
