Keflavik International Airport is the largest and only international airport in Iceland which operates flights from Europe and USA. It is located approximately 50km from capital city Reykjavik. The Keflavik airport is also often being called as Reykjavik International Airport or Reykjavik – Kefkavik airport.

Iceland air and low-cost Wow Air airlines have got their hubs at this airport. For Domestic flights use a Reykjavik Domestic Airport right in the city centre of Reykjavik.

The airport is open 24/7.

Keflavik Airport Transit

As many flight deals show, both IcelandAir and WowAir are offering relatively cheap flight connections from Europe to North America with layover in Keflavik Airport. There is a very small, well-signed terminal in Keflavik, however during midnight's rush hour might get quite crowded. For flights to the USA it is one of the most convenient and fastests connecting/transit airports. As per layover time, 40 - 50 minutes should be sufficient.
