Madrid Airport, the airport of Adolf Suarez is located in Barajas district approximately 20km from Madrid. The airport is one of the largest in Europe with the longest terminal (4) in the world.

The Airport is a connection hub to many international flights from Europe and Latin America. It is a hub to Iberia and Air Europe airlines.

Terminals 1,2 and 3 and within the same building and during transfers between them, you do not need to leave the building. Terminal 4 is separated into 2 parts. First is used for flights within Schengen zone, the second one T4S for flights outside the Schengen zone. They are connected by an underground shuttle train departing every 3 minutes, with journey time approx. 2-3 minutes. Total transfer time within T4 and T4S terminal is about 45 minutes. For transfers from outside the Schengen to Schengen (and opposite), you will have to go through immigration check. Shall your connecting flight be on the same ticket or with the same airline you will most likely have transfer within the same terminal.
