Rovaniemi Airport is a small airport in the north of Finland, approximately 8km from the same called city. The city is home of Santa Claus who you can meet during winter months.
As the airport literally intersects the polar circle, Rovaniemi is usually the initial city for tourists to see Northern lights.
There is a shuttle bus called Airportbus going from Rovaniemi Airport to the city centre and back.
It operates daily, depending on flight arrival/departure time. On the way back to the airport, the bus departures from the city centre 70 minutes before the scheduled flight – the time will be sufficient.
The journey to the city centre takes about 15 minutes.
