Ercan Airport is the only airport in North Cyprus, located 24km from capital North Nicosia. North Cyprus is unofficially claimed by Turkey with no political support from European countries thus there are no non-stop scheduled flights between other countries than Turkey.
You can read more information regarding Foreign relations of Northern Cyprus here (Wiki).
At this small airport, there are very few cafes, a snack bar and a burger fast-food, a duty free shop and Bosphore CIP Lounge open 24/7 which allows regular passengers to enter when space is available for 25€ per person.
The only way of getting to this airport from the UK is Turkish Airlines or Pegasus with 1 layover (either IST or SAW) with flight tickets usually ranging from £160 – £300. The journey takes about 8 hours.
The airport is open 24/7.
