easyJet is expanding its offerings with package holidays to Lyon, which include flights, hotel accommodation, a 23 kg luggage allowance, and transfers for beach holidays. Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, expressed excitement over the launch of the new service from Liverpool to Lyon. This service aims to cater to a variety of travellers, from winter sports enthusiasts eager to explore the Alps to city breakers interested in Lyon’s rich history, architecture, and culinary scene.
Paul Winfield, Aviation Director at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, welcomed the reintroduction of the Lyon service with easyJet, marking it as their fourth French destination from Liverpool. He highlighted the appeal of this route for passengers from across the North West, especially during the festive season, whether they’re drawn to the allure of winter sports, the scenic beauty of the Alps, or the charm of Lyon’s historic cityscape.
“We are delighted to have celebrated the launch of our new service from Liverpool to Lyon, providing more choice for our customers who are looking to visit the Alps region, whether they are skiers or other winter sports enthusiasts, or those looking for a city break to explore Lyon’s history, architecture, and cuisine.”

In addition to the Lyon route, easyJet has announced several new routes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Starting from April 1, 2024, the budget airline will commence flights from Speke to Enfidha in Tunisia. This winter will also mark the beginning of easyJet’s route to Hurghada, Egypt’s renowned scuba-diving destination. Both Enfidha and Hurghada represent the two non-European destinations accessible directly from Liverpool Airport.
