Air Transat

A Canadian airlines based in Montreal, Quebec founded in 1986. Air Transat is third-largest airline in Canada serving over 60 destinations in 25 countries.

It mostly focuses on Canadian largest cities such as Quebec City, Toronto and Vancouver and offers connections between Canada and the UK.

The airline often offers flights in its Eco Budget Economy class fare which does not includes checked bag or seat selection in advance, with prices as low as 50% of the initial fare.

Eco Budget fare – Economy class

  • On flights from/to Europe – 1st 23kg bag costs £40 if prepaid and £50 if paid within 24 hours of departure.
  • On flights to/from South, U.S. and domestic flights within Canada – 1st bag costs £15 if prepaid and £18 if paid within 24 hours of departure

 

Travelling with children

Infants travelling on an adult’s lap do not have a baggage allowance; however, 1 stroller and 1 car or booster seat per child/infant are accepted free of charge. No substitutions permitted.

    • For the South destinations (Mexico, Latin America & the Caribbean) open only 3 hours before the scheduled flight

  • On Canadian domestic flights, the check-in desk closes 45 minutes before departure

Only In London, Paris, Cancun, Punta Cana and Jamaica Self-Service kiosks open 8 hours and close 75 minutes prior to the scheduled departure (Baggage drop-off counter open only).

Boarding Gate closure times 
International flight: 30 minutes before departure.
Domestic flight: 15 minutes before departure.
