Check-in

Airport check-in

  • Domestic flights – open 2-3 hours – close 30 minutes before scheduled departure
  • Scandinavia to Europe – open 2-3 hours – close 45 minutes before scheduled departure
  • To/from Asia, USA – open 2-3 hours – close 60 minutes before scheduled departure
  • Deadline time may differ by destination. See SAS official table of check-in deadlines.

For travelers to the US it’s important to arrive at the airport well in advance, as you will need extra time to check-in and pass through security. This is due to additional regulations from US Transportation Security Administration (TSA), affecting all departures to the US. This also affects transfer passengers.

Online & Mobile check-in

  • Open 22 hours – 60 minutes before scheduled departure
  • Online check-in is not available for flights from: Alanya, Cagliari, Chambery, Gazipasa, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Napoli, Olbia, Ovda, Pisa, Pula, Tenerife. For these flights, you need to check-in at the airport.
  • All your boarding passes will become available in your phone app after you check-in

Self-service check-in kiosks might not be available on some smaller airports. Their closing time depends on the flight’s destination

Seat Selection

For standart fare, seat selection (before check-in) costs 9–12 EUR for Scandiavian flights, 9–19 EUR for European flights and 11–55 EUR for Asia/US flights. Prices are per passenger per route.

  • SAS Plus and SAS Business include seat selection free of charge at any time of reservation
  •  Seat reservation will become free of charge when check-in opens (22 hours before flight), however limited and random seating option may be available.
  • Economy Classic, FlexBusiness class seats selection is free of charge
