Muscat Airport is the main Oman’s airport and mostly thanks to airline Oman Air is used more often as a connection hub for flights from the UK and rest of Europe to Middle East, South and South-East Asia.

The airport has got a brand new look after 2018’s 70 months reconstruction so it could cope with a growing number of incoming passengers.

There are plenty of shopping and dining (restaurants, fast-foods, cafes..) possibilities as well as airport hotel ‘Aerotel’ on level 5 of the Departure hall, 2 other hotels in Arrivals public hall, Spa (relax zone with massage chairs) just before Gate A3, adjacent to Gate A and in the middle of the Duty Free area; restrooms and showers or sleeping seats.

See their official walkthrough video on youtube.
There are direct flights from Manchester and London Heathrow airport with Oman Air (7h 30min flight time) and with 1 layover with other major airlines (around 10 hours journey).

Turkish low-cost airline Pegasus sometimes offers flights from London Standsted or Manchester airports to Muscat as much as 3 times cheaper than regular fares.

The airport is open 24/7.

Muscat Airport Transit

Muscat airport is much smaller than large popular airports in Dubai or Doha and is very well signposted. During your international transit, you will stay in the transit area the whole time. Allow minimum time to transit 60 minutes.
