Virgin Atlantic

Virgin Atlantic is a British company founded by Richard Branson in 1984. From their bases in London Heathrow and Gatwick (might not resume flights from this base following the Covid-19 pandemic), the airline offers flights to currently about 30 destinations with its limited fleet of about 35 aircraft due to 2020’s Covid-19 pandemic crisis.

Virgin Atlantic aircraft offer 3 Class configurations – Economy, Premium and Upper Class (with fully reclinable seats).

Cabin Baggage

Max Weight:

23 x 36 x 56cm

  • Only 1 piece of hand baggage / per person in Economy (Light, Classic and Delight) or Premium class.
  • Up to 2 pieces of hand baggage / per person in Upper class (either 12kg for 1 bag or 16kg combined for 2 bags).

Additional small bag such as small backpack, purse, handbag, overcoat, infant’s food are allowed for free on board.

  • Laptops must fit into your hand baggage.

Children’s hand baggage

Babies and toddlers 0-23 months allowed 1 bag up to 6kg.

The same hand baggage rules as an adult is applied to Children aged 2 years +.

Infant’s / children’s foldable pushchairs and car seats is considered as a free addition to your baggage allowance and being placed in the hold. Some foldable buggies are also allowed in the cabin.

Checked Baggage

upto 90 x 75 x 43cm
  • Only 1 piece of hand baggage / per person in Economy (Classic and Delight).
  • No check-in baggage is included in Economy Light class.
  • Up to 2 pieces of hand baggage / per person in Premium (23kg each) or Upper class (32kg each).

Seat Selection

Seat selection is free during check-in in all classes. However, in Economy Light and Classic, there is a £30 fee for Standart seat (£35 on the upper deck) each way if you wish to reserve your seat in advance (more then 24 hours before your flight).

 

For Exit row seats in Economy Light and Classic, the fees range from £49 (reduced legroom) – £90(upper deck).

 

In other Classes, the seat selection if free any time.

The seat width in Economy class range from 17-17.4 inches (31” seat pitch (34” in Eco. Delight)), in Premium class 18-21 inches (38” seat pitch) and 20-22 inches in Upper Class (possible to recline to bed mode) – 6ft 7.5”
